- Account data: Name, email address, profile photo (if Google Sign-In is used)
- Study progress: MCQs attempted, correct/incorrect answers, subject-wise accuracy, study streaks
- Mock test results: Scores, time taken, subject performance, All India Rank data
- Bookmarks & notes: Questions saved and notes written within the platform
- AI interactions: Questions asked to the AI Doubt Solver (to improve response quality)
- Device & usage data: Browser type, device type, pages visited, session duration (via Google Analytics)
- Payment data: Transaction ID and plan type only — full card details are never stored (handled by Razorpay)
🎯 How We Use Your Data
All data collected is used solely to improve your FMGE/NExT preparation experience:
- Personalise your dashboard — show your weak subjects, accuracy trends, study streaks
- Generate your All India Rank on the leaderboard (based on accuracy and MCQs attempted)
- Send exam reminders and daily challenge notifications (only if you opt in)
- Improve AI responses — your doubt questions help us fine-tune the AI tutor
- Detect and prevent abuse, cheating, or platform misuse
- Show relevant Google AdSense advertisements (anonymous, interest-based)
- Issue your progress certificate when milestones are reached

🔐 Data Storage & Security
Your data is securely stored using Google Firebase (Firestore), one of the world's most trusted cloud platforms:
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest
- Firebase security rules ensure you can only access your own data
- Study progress is stored both locally (browser localStorage) and in the cloud (Firestore) for backup
- Passwords are managed entirely by Google Firebase Auth — we never see your password
- Pro subscription records are stored securely and linked only to your user ID
🍪 Cookies & Local Storage
FMGE AI uses browser localStorage and cookies to save your preferences and progress:
- localStorage: Saves your MCQ progress, theme (dark/light), font size, bookmarks, and notes locally on your device
- Session cookies: Used by Firebase Auth to keep you logged in
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4 to understand how students use the platform
- Advertising cookies: Google AdSense to show relevant medical education ads
You can clear localStorage at any time from browser settings. Note: clearing localStorage will reset your local study progress.
